On September 19, 2018, Fr. Grzegorz Warmuz was installed as the Sixth Pastor of Saint Fabian Church by his Excellency Bishop Wypych, who conducted the Rite of Installation who conferred, through the authority of our Archbishop, Blase Cardinal Cupich, the title of Pastor upon Grzegorz Warmuz.
Father Grzegorz Warmuz was born on April 29th, 1966, in NowyTarg, Poland. He grew up in Kowaniec, with his eleven brothers and sisters. He became a member of Cistercian Order in 1986. From 1988 to 1994, he studied at the Major Seminary of the Franciscan Fathers in Katowice. He was ordained as a priest on May 12th, 1994, and in the same year received the Master of Theology Degree.
Fr. Greg came to the United States in 1996 and studied English at University of Illinois at Chicago.
He served as associate pastor at parishes of St. Odillo, St. Priscilla, St. Fabian, St. Stephen and was assisting St. John the Evangelist and other parishes with his sacramental services. For nine years Fr. Greg served at St. Stephen Parish as associate pastor. He is the chaplain of members of The Polish Highlanders Alliance of America’s and involved in the Catholic League for Religious Assistance to Poland and Polonia.
Father Warmuz was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2010.
With God’s grace, Father Greg will shepherd, and serve the St. Fabian community for years to come.
