St. Fabian Music Ministry: 2011-’12 Season
CHOIR: rehearsals are typically Thursdays at 7:15pm in church. If you’re a newcomer this year, please call the Music Ministry Office prior to the rehearsal, for specific information about membership.
CANTORS: If you’re gifted with a beautiful voice & fine sight-reading and enjoy working as a soloist, call the Music-Ministry Office.
INSTRUMENTALISTS: Call the Music Ministry Office to set up an initial meeting. If you’re competent on your instrument--be it flute, oboe, clarinet, guitar, banjo, trumpet, trombone, violin, keyboard, bass, drums, or anything in between--your talent would be a blessing for St. Fabian’s: whether once a month or once a week.
HANDBELLS: All it takes is two people per Mass to add the wonderful sound of bells to an Alleluia or Recessional. And all it takes to play the bells is a sense of rhythm and the ability to count! Parts are color-coded to make them easy to learn. In a few brief rehearsals, you’ll be part of a living symphony of sound. Just call.
CHILDREN’s CHOIR: Interested children (grades 4-8) are typically auditioned during their first Religious Ed’ class in September, but parents can call the Music Ministry Office anytime for information--or see me at the organ after Mass.
Rehearsals: some Tuesdays, most Thursdays: 4:30-5:15pm, in church;
Performances: approx every 3-4 weeks, usually for the 5pm Sat. Mass.
